The summary of the professional career

A legal obligation

Since 5 March 2014, each company must organise, at least every two years, a professional interview for each of its employees.

Every six years of the employee's presence in the company, the professional interview has a specific objective: to draw up a summary of the employee's professional career.

See the practical sheet for professional interviews

Implementation methods

Every six years, each company must make a summary of the career path of each of its employees.

This gives rise to the drafting of a document, a copy of which is given to the employee.

The content of the summary inventory

In the summary inventory document of the career path, the employer must ensure that over the last six years, the employee has:

  • Benefited from a professional interview every two years and, if necessary, interviews scheduled in return for certain absences (See the practical sheet on professional interviews)

  • Completed at least one training course

  • Acquired certification elements

  • Benefited from a salary or professional progression

  • An employee's salary progression is assessed both at the individual and/or collective level

  • Career progression includes "vertical" progression, at the level of the various hierarchical levels, and "horizontal" mobility, which consists of progression in terms of responsibilities or a change of profession
